Foraging walk at Valley View! We will meet at 10am at the Pattison enterance. We will be looking there for mushrooms and fresh greens like Garlic Mustard or Nettles. Led by area outdoors expert Dustin Lindley. The group will walk the woods along the East Fork River to forage. The event will most likely wrap up around 1pm.

Garlic Mustard should be fairly common and for those interested Dustin will bring the neccessary equipment to toss together some fresh Garlic Mustard Pesto and pasta.

Bring some good hiking shoes, a sack of most any type, maybe a walking stick, and you will want gloves and long sleeves if you plan to pick any nettles. The terrain we will be covering is somewhat to fairly hilly, but we will be moving fairly slowly. I’ll provide a small packet of info about common woodland goodies in the area, and will have my trusty Peterson Edible Wild Plants book to help identify unknowns.
